 Andhra cucumber tomato recipe: A traditional andhra cucumber ia also know as dosakaya .It goes great with plain rice and dosa. TIP:To prepare dosakaya tomato curry always use a hard cucumber.do not forget to check the cucumber  bitterness as many are tend to be bitter.Do not increase quantity of tomato ,the tasty of the curry is going to sweetest.


A simple dosakaya tomato curry recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

1 Dosakaya chopped (500grms / 1 lb)
2 medium size tomatoes chopped
1 medium size onion chopped
6 green chilly
1 tbs red chilly powder
1/2 tbs turmeric powder
1/2 tbs coriander powder
1/4 tbs coconut powder
coriander leaves
salt to taste
oil
Tadka: mustard seeds,cumin seeds,urad dal,chana dal -1 tbs
2 dry red chilly
1 spring curry leaves    


STEP BY STEP PHOTOS TO MAKE YELLO CUCUMBER TOMATO CURRY RECIPE:

.wash and  peal the dosakaya and cut into equal size cubes.




.Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and allow it to splutter,add chanadal,
 urad dal,red  chilly saute for 2 minutes till they turn little brown.




.Add green chilies,curry leaves,onion and saute till onion turn light brown  and add yellow cucumber  peaces cover the lid and cook it for 3 minutes.



.Then add turmeric powder after 2 minutes add tomato peaces(along with tomato we can also add  spices but i want my tomatoes should be mash)cook till tomato gets mash.

.Then add red chilly powder,salt  mix well in a low flame cook   it for 3 minutes according to the  gravy consistency we can add some water (optional)if u doesn't want gravy skip water.


. I like to add 2 small glasses of  water in a slow flame cook  till  dosakaya peaces gets soft and now 
   add coconut powder,cumin powder(using less quantity )after 2 minutes switch off the flame.


 . Finally garnish with cilantro,yummy,delicious yellow cucumber tomato curry is ready to serve with    rice and dosa.
