Bendhi ka subji curry | How to make ladies finger curry | Okra curry


Bendhi ka subji recipe –  A dry south indian curry made a simple dry okra recipe ideal for roti, chapathi and also for rice as a side dish for lunch and dinner. Basically the ladies fingers are
chopped and then stir fry with onion and tomatoes with dry spices like garam masala and coconut
etc.Okra fry recipe is a popular north indian sabzi which is famous for its nutritious value and of course for its amazing taste.ladies finger masala dry is an ideal accompaniment with chapati as a
form of sabzi and also can be heaven with steamed rice, dal and ghee.
I have shared quite a few bhindi recipes till now which also includes stuffed bhindi,bendhi ravva fry,bendhi red chilly fry.This bendhi ka subji goes excellent with rice,chapathi and roti.

A simple okra curry recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

Bendhi /okra -500 grms
onion chopped - 1
tomatoes chopped - 2
ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tbs
Curry leaves - 1  springs.6
coriander powder - 1/2 tbs
Coconut powder - 4 tbs
Red chilly powder - 1 1/2 tbs
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil
Tempering - mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal ,urad dal - 2 tbs
Dry red chillies - 3

STEP BY STEP PHOTOS TO MAKE OKRA STIR FRY RECIPE:

.Wash and rinse water and dry them with clean cloth.


.Remove the heads and tails and cut them into slices.cut them into 1 cm peaces approximately.


.Heat 2 tbs oil in a wide pan add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal ,urad dal and red chilly saute  for 2 minutes untill turn brown add onion,green chilly,curry leaves saute untill onion  transparent.  Then add ginger garlic paste saute till the raw flavor is gone.



.Now add okra mix well.(do not add salt in the beginning other wise the moisture in the bendhi comes  out and fry becomes gummy).


.Cover and cook in a medium heat untill 25% done.then add tomato mix gently place the lid and cook   till the bendhi peaces becomes tender or 75% done.


.Add turmeric powder red chilly powder,salt,coconut powder and coriander powder mix gently in a  medium flame cook for 4 minutes.


.Finally garnish with cilantro and switch off the flame.



.Now your tasty ladies finger curry is ready to serve with rice chapathi and roti.
