Aratikaya vepudu | How to make raw banana fry | Aratikaya fry recipe

Raw banana fry recipe: Raw banana is called aratikaya in my native language and stir fry is called vepudu. aratikaya vepudu means a raw banana fry.there are many versions of making raw banana fry, i guess each state has different one.This recipe is simple and not take  much time to cook.


To make banana fry or aratikaya vepudu recipe,choose firm and green banana that is not ripe or
 a bout to ripe.peel them properly.the skin of banana contains lot of pesticides if you are buying from    market. Then season and fry onion,add chopped banana cubes sprinkle chilly powder,garam  masala,coriander powder. That's it, we will end up with this nice tasting aratikaya vepudu.

A simple raw banana fry recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

2 Raw plantains cut to bite sized peaces
6 chopped green chilly
1 small chopped onion
1 tbs ginger garlic paste
1 spring curry leaves
coriander leaves
2 tbs peanuts
1 tbs chana dal
1 tbs urad dal
1/4 tbs mustard seeds
1/4 tbs cumin seeds
3/4 tbs red chilly powder
1/4 tbs turmeric powder
1/2 tbs coriander powder
1/2 tbs garam masala
salt to taste
oil                              

A STEP BY STEP PHOTOS TO MAKE RAW BANANA FRY:

.Wash and peel the banana again wash  and cut to bite size peaces.



.Heat 2 tbs oil in a pan add peanuts,chana dal,urad dal, cumin seeds,mustard seeds saute till they turn  brown. Add curry leaves,onion,green chilly,ginger garlic paste saute till raw flavor is gone.




.Now add raw banana peaces place the lid and cook in a medium flame till they turn light brown
 (till  banana gets soft).In between remove the lid mix while cooking. i am transferring to a wide  cooking  bowl hear my cooking bowl is small.

.Then add red chilly powder,salt,turmeric powder,coriander powder,garam masala mix well after
  2  minutes garnish with cilantro,switch off the flame.


.Now your tasty raw banana fry is ready to serve as a side dish.
