Gongura rice recipe:
This is a Andhra traditional and tasty gongura rice made with Gongura Leaves ( Sorrel leaves).
The recipe is very simple, made with handful ingredients under 15 minutes. this rice some times called as gongura pulihora or sorrel rice or gongura rice.Sharing a simple gongura rice made south
indian style.
Gongura leaves are sour in taste, the rice will be slurpy and yummy!The gongura greens are cherished in Andhra cuisine more than any of its counterparts and is used to prepare delectable pappu, pachadi and other dishes.

INGREDIENTS:
Gongura leaves 1 big size cups/1 bunch
Boiled rice 1 cup/1/2 kg rice/2-240 ml cups rice
1/2 cup cubed onions
12 green chilies
2 tbs peanuts
1 tbs chana dal
1 tbs urad dal
1/2 tbs cumin seeds
1/2 tbs mustard seeds
3 Dry red chilly
1 spring curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Oil
STEP BY STEP PHOTOS TO MAKE SORREL LEAVES RICE RECIPE:
.Wash gongura and keep it a side.
.Heat oil in a pan add gongura leaves and fry untill leaves gets soft,take out from pan (put into the plate).cool down
.Grind it to a fine paste.
.In the same pan heat 1 tbs oil and add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, let them splutter add chana dal, urad dal,peanuts,dry red chilly saute till they turn light brown.And add green chilly ,curry leaves saute it for 2 minutes.
.Then add boiled gongura paste,turmeric powder,salt mix well in a low flame saute it for 3 minutes add boiled rice mix gently (don't mix too much rice is going to mash).
.After 2 minutes add onions and mix in a low flame let it cook for 2 minutes in this we want our onions should re raw (little transparent) and finally garnish with cilantro.
.Now your tasty ,yummy and delicious rice is ready to serve hot.
