Rice flour murukulu | How to make butter murukulu | White and Crispy soft murukulu recipe


Rice flour murukulu recipe: This murukulu is typically made from rice flour and urad dal flour. It is some times called "chakali"; Chakali is a similar dish, typically made with an additional ingredient, Bengal gram (chickpea) flour.In Tamil Nad, Chakali also called as Mullu Murukku or Butter Murukku.
 

It is very easy to prepare  i use home made flour ,but you can also use  store bought flours for this recipe. In earlier days, people use to soak it and grind it to make murukku dough. Still people
 use to follow that, but they grind all the rice and urad dal in the mill where the machine
is common for everyone. During Dipawali. Diwali season they grind in big quantity and store
the dry flour in their homes for 5-6 months. I am very happy to share this recipe to you all

A simple butter murukulu  recipe:

INGREDIENTS

Rice  - 3 Cups
Urad dal - 1 cup
Carom seeds/ajwain -1 tbs
Sesame seeds - 2 tbs(optional)
Butter - 2 Tblsp
Salt to taste
Oil - For Deep Frying

STEP BY STEP PHOTOS TO MAKE RICE FLOUR CRISPY  SOFT MURUKULU:

. Dry roast rice and urad dal as shown in the below picture till they change light color.cool down
  and blend it to a smooth powder.



.Take a bowl and add rice flour,urad dal powder,salt,red chilly powder,carom seeds,sesame seeds and  mix nicely.

 .Heat 2 tbs butter in a pan .


.Then add heated  butter and mix nicely.Add water and make slightly tight dough.




. Take small dumpling and place inside sev machine and press with hands in hot oil.


. Squeeze directly to hot oil through a murukku press to which round disc is fixed. Once it become       crispy transfer into paper towel.


. Now your tasty yummy ,crispy murukku  is ready to serve.
